Commitments

Engaged for the environment and the local economy

Our commitment to the environment is reinforced by our renowned environmental certifications, including the Wildlife Friendly certification, which recognises our sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation practices.

The production of our essential oils is based on the planting of sustainably managed energy wood. This production involves no chemical inputs, ensuring soil regeneration, fair remuneration for workers and genuine support for children's access to health and education.

Partnering with the NGO Man and the Environment, the Olivier Behra Institute is committed to climate and biodiversity by supporting conservation efforts and working with local communities.

At the Olivier Behra Institute, we work closely with local communities, ensuring essential oil extraction without deforestation.

Additionally, a sponsorship system has been set up to directly support the regeneration of the Malagasy forest. This initiative is based on planting a tree each time a bottle of essential oil is purchased from our website. This allows us to offer high-quality products that respect the environment while contributing to the economic development of local communities.

To date, the "1 bottle 1 tree" initiative has enabled the planting of over 450,000 trees since 2009.

Projects supported by Man and the Environment

Project to support the economic development of women and youth in local Vohimana associations.

In support of sustainable tourism, this NGO-backed project involves members of local associations and grassroots communities who have been working together for many years on the sites where they operate. All these sites have strong ecotourism potential.

Sustainable enhancement of local resources

As part of the socio-economic development of rural Malagasy communities, the NGO Man and the Environment brings its expertise to promote and develop income-generating activities, particularly for local populations living in extreme poverty.

Protection of mangroves

Covering an area of nearly 3,000 hectares under threat, mangrove protection is one of the main projects supported by the NGO. This requires the involvement and awareness of local populations and authorities, which are key elements to the success of the project.
